I believe that if there is a meaning to life it is this - to live in harmony with ourselves, others, and Nature. We are a small part of a great whole, an ever-evolving process that we call existence and we should aim to live in harmony with it.
While things won’t necessarily always go right for us, living in harmony is the way we are meant to live and that should, on the whole, make life work better for us and those around us. It should result in us living a happier, healthier, and more fulfilled life.
This blog is my attempt to document how I’m trying to get closer to a life in harmony. No one is perfect and this blog is likely to be full of failed experiments as much as successful ones, but I hope that together we can learn, grow, and get closer to harmonious living.
We live in a world that is very much out of harmony - it is full of war and violence, environmental degradation, and crises of health and mental health. But despite this, I believe that each of us can choose to move towards a life that is more in harmony, and that together we can create a more harmonious world. My hope is that this blog and the community we build together here can play some small part in that process.
We’ll be covering a huge range of topics from philosophy to environmentalism, spirituality to nature, slow and seasonal living to health and wellness, and much much more.
My name is Matty and I live in the North East of England with my husband, dog, and two cats. I am quite an inquisitive person and that has meant that I have been on a journey for a long while now, searching for answers to questions like Why are we here? What is the purpose of life? And importantly, How then should we live? I am still very much on that journey but I do believe I have at least found some answers that satisfy me and this blog will explore those.
I aim to publish here once a week and, for now, the blog will remain free to all. So if you are interested in living a life more in harmony with yourself, others, and the natural world, why not join our community here and subscribe below? And if you know anyone else you think would be interested in joining us, why not share the blog with them too?
